Chess is a game for two people. It is played on a board made up of 64 squares, 32 of them light squares, the other 32 dark squares.

Each side begins with 16 chess men arranged as in the diagram. Each type of piece has its own special move, and because of this chess is a very complicated game. The World's greatest players spend hours every day studying chess.

It is also a tremendously interesting game. Use this web site to learn to play. E-mail me to let me know how you get on and play chess as often as you can.
